Derriaghy CC 2 – 2 Loughgall
(Derriaghy won 6 – 5 on penalties)
| D Smith (p)17m | |
| Hawthorne 54m |
Loughgall got off to a bad start in the final when they were two goals down after only 10 minutes. Before conceding the Villagers threatened twice with Ryan Moffatt narrowly dragging an effort past the post.
Loughgall pulled a goal back on 17 minutes when Bryan Pentland was unlucky to see his driven effort from the edge of the box come back off the post. With the rebounded ball, Pentland was fouled inside the penalty area and Dean Smith scored his second penalty in two games.
Loughgall hit the woodwork again just before the interval when Moffatt’s free kick was touched onto the crossbar by Andy Hamilton.
The leveller came 6 minutes before full time when Dean Smith’s head down to Davy Hawthorne saw the midfielder do well to find the bottom corner from the edge of the penalty area.
The hosts won the penalty shoot-out 6 – 5 when Andy Hamilton’s effort was well saved by the goalkeeper.
