Civil Service 0 – 5 Loughgall
| D Smith (p) 5m, 7m, 24m, 58m | |
| Uprichard 17m |
A comfortable win was wrapped up thanks to four first half goals, ensuring Loughgall progressed to the final to face Derriaghy who had defeated Lisburn Rangers earlier in the day.
The Villagers opened the scoring after only 5 minutes when Davy Hawthorne’s promising run saw him upended in the penalty area, allowing Dean Smith to send the goalkeeper the wrong way. Smith doubled his goal tally 2 minutes later when Scott Walker’s low cross was finished at the front post.
Civil Service threatened on the break and forced ‘keeper Marc Robinson into a smart low save after 12 minutes.
Loughgall’s third goal came on 17 minutes and it was a moment of real class from Andy Uprichard. The winger won the ball in his own half before embarking on a mazy run beating 4 players and exquisitely chipping the ‘keeper. Dean Smith completed his hat-trick after 24 minutes when Walker did well to square a cross field pass into Smith who fired home from 8 yards.
The second half didn’t produce many goal scoring opportunities for either side until 2 minutes before the final whistle when Dean Smith beat the offside trap and calmly slotted low past the out-rushing ‘keeper.
