Loughgall 3 - 1 Bangor

Loughgall enjoyed domination in this action-packed top of the table clash against Bangor and were rewarded with the victory thanks to three first half goals.
The hosts opened the scoring after only 5 minutes when captain Darragh Peden’s long throw was flicked on at the near post by Alan Murphy and the ball looped over ‘keeper Ryan Brown 1 before ending up in the net.  2 minutes later the Villagers had the ball in the net again when Andy Brown headed home Marty Lavery’s corner.  However referee Iain Hall disallowed the goal for pushing although there were little complaints from the Bangor defence.
On 9 minutes striker Brown felt he had forced the ball over the line following a dangerous corner however the referee did not award it.  Glenn Waddell forced ‘keeper Brown 1 to push his dipping effort over the crossbar and from the resulting corner Loughgall doubled their advantage.  Ryan Moffatts perfect delivery was nodded home at the back post by star striker Dean Smith.
The Villagers further added to their lead in bizarre fashion when Brown 1 mis-kick from 18 yards fell to Dean Smith.  ‘Keeper Brown 1 did well to halt Smith however Brian Adair collected the ball and he simply rounded the ‘keeper and slotted home.
Loughgall continued on top of their game and threatened on 40 minutes when Moffatt’s ambitious volley from the sideline almost caught Brown 1 off guard however the ‘keeper did well to tip over the dipping effort.
Paul Millar made two substitutions to his Bangor side at half time and Ryan Brown 2’s volley forced home ‘keeper Marc Robinson into an excellent save low to his left on 53 minutes.  Andy Brown could have added to Loughgall’s lead when he headed wide from two opportunities in quick succession after 56 minutes.
On 68 minutes BJ McMenamin played a clever cross to Brown 2 sliding in at the back post.  The striker managed to miss the target from 6 yards when he really should have done better.  Substitute James Bell rattled the Loughgall upright on 71 minutes when he unleashed a blistering drive from 25 yards.
Loughgall had a number of chances to score again when Lavery was well advanced up the pitch however the winger’s crosses were not finished or were well cleared by the away defence.
The Seasiders grabbed a consolation goal with 7 minutes remaining when Andy Forsythe’s cross was converted by Brown 2.  The striker made no mistake this time when he rifled a shot in off the post.
