Loughgall 4 - 0 Annagh United

Loughgall maintained their winning streak as they eased past Annagh United at Lakeview Park last Saturday.  Niall Currie made two changes from last weeks victory over Ards replacing the injured duo of Alan Murphy and Dean Smith with Richie Allen and Raymond Fitzpatrick.
Loughgall’s first chance of the game fell to Ryan Moffatt on 8 minutes, when he received Lukasz Adamczyk’s pass inside the box.  Moffatt tried a left footed shot but John Eakin did well to save low.  After 14 minutes Raymond Fitzpatrick cut inside from the left flank before hitting it across goal, strike partner Adamczyk failed to apply the finish from close range.
The Villagers broke the deadlock after 15 minutes and it was Noel Robinson who scored for the second time this week.  Brian Adair played a great pass to put Robinson clean through, the midfielder showed great composure as he chipped the ball over ‘keeper Eakin from inside the penalty area.
On 28 minutes ex-Loughgall player John Guy saw his 25 yard drive excellently blocked by Marc Robinson in the home goals.  5 minutes later Loughgall could have added to their lead when a great delivery from Noel Robinson’s free kick was glanced across goal by Captain Darragh Peden before going out for a goal kick.
Simon Haffey and Brian Quilty combined to release Annagh striker Dean Walker who flashed a low shot across goal on 35 minutes.  One minute later Fitzpatrick did well down the right flank before delivering a whipped cross from the byline which Adamczyk failed to connect to.  After 39 minutes a long ball was misjudged by defender Richie Allen, Quilty raced onto the ball and was set to shoot however Neil Alderdice put in a tremendous last ditch tackle inside the penalty area.
Just before the interval the Villagers doubled their lead when the impressive Moffatt collected a headed clearance on the edge of the box before beating one defender and curling the ball into the top corner past the outstretched John Eakin.  Loughgall could have in fact added to their tally one minute later when Noel Robinson’s cross was headed goalwards by Adamczyk however ‘keeper Eakin would was equal to the effort.
There was plenty of action shortly after the break, Fitzpatrick was fouled on the edge of the box and quick thinking saw Loughgall score their third.  Fitzpatrick caught the Annagh defence off guard as he quickly passed to Adair who slotted home from inside the box.  United’s Simon Haffey was sent off for protesting against the decision to allow the quick free kick to be taken.
On 66 minutes Noel Robinson delivered a great cross from the touchline and Adamczyk did well to connect with a header although it ran harmlessly past the post.
Loughgall scored their fourth and final goal of the game with 15 minutes remaining as Ryan Moffatt completed his brace.  Substitute Marty Lavery crossed from the byline and Moffatt volleyed home from close range under pressure from his marker.
