Loughgall 1 - 0 Dundela
Loughgall took a major step to claiming this seasons First Division title thanks to an injury time winner from top goalscorer Dean Smith. In an entertaining affair a goalless draw looked likely until the fantastic passage of play down the left flank which allowed Smith to finish for the three points.
Paul Baron came in to partner Smith up front replacing Andy Brown while Lukasz Adamczyk recovered from injury to claim his place on the substitutes bench.
In the first opportunity of the game ex-Loughgall player Chris Guiney struck a left footed drive from 25 yards after 8 minutes however he didn’t trouble Marc Robinson in the home goals. On 15 minutes Loughgall defender Alan Murphy headed Darragh Peden’s long throw into goalkeeper’s Tony Miskelly’s hands.
Winger Marty Lavery collected Neil Alderdice pass quickly turned inside the penalty area however he blazed his effort high over the crossbar on 24 minutes.
In the 72nd minute the Villagers almost opened the scoring when Dean Smith connected with Alderdice’s low cross from the byline though he turned the ball into the side netting.
On 78 minutes Dean Smith again was proving a real handful when he glanced Alderdice’s cross just over the crossbar.
With 6 minutes remaining Loughgall had a tremendous chance to bag the opener when Alan Murphy had a free header from Lavery only he couldn’t keep his effort on target.
In injury time Dundela’s star striker Matty Burrows forced ‘keeper Robinson into a great save down to right and Murphy was on hand to clear the danger.
In the second minute substitute Lukasz Adamczyk ran clear down the left wing before finding Dean Smith and the striker calmly sidefooted home to the delight of the home fans.
The away side had a chance to level matter moments later only for Burrows to fail to connect to Bryan Hylands ball into the penalty area when unchallenged.
