Loughgall 1 - 0 Banbridge Town

Loughgall defeated a resilient Banbridge Town by a solitary goal from Dean Smith in a bruising encounter to maintain their 100% winning record in their league campaign. 
Ryan Moffatt faced his old side for the first time since moving to Lakeview Park in the summer while ex-Loughgall player Kevin Henry lined up for Michael Lamont’s men in central defence.
Niall Currie started the same team that were victorious in the Carnegie League Cup final however were forced into an early change when striker Lukasz Adamczyk was stretchered off with suspected ligament damage following a rash challenge from Paul Evans.
The first opening fell to Brian Adair and the midfielder forced ‘keeper William McFrederick into a smart low save on 10 minutes.  After replacing Adamczyk, Andy Brown almost scored when he narrowly headed over after Marty Lavery’s dangerous cross.  On 34 minutes Damien McParland cleverly played a ball through to Timmy Grant however the Town striker shot straight at Marc Robinson from a poor angle.  Just before the break McParland blazed wide after Aaron Bakers good work on the left flank.
2 minutes after the interval Dean Smith challenged a short back pass and Andy Brown collected the ball before slipping it through to Smith.  The free scoring striker failed to beat ‘keeper McFrederick with a curled effort from inside the penalty area. 
On 50 minutes Andy Brown headed on a cross and Dean Smith was able to out jump McFrederick and nod home his 11th goal in his last 7 starts. 
Banbridge tried to respond quickly however Ryan Evans free kick was easily saved by home ‘keeper Robinson.  On 64 minutes Smith rose above Kevin Henry and powered another header towards goal however McFrederick did well to save down to his left.
With 10 minutes remaining Ryan Moffatt saw his free kick easily collected by ‘keeper McFrederick.  Banbridge piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser however struggled to break down the resolute Villagers defence.  Their best chance fell to substitute Shane McGeown in injury time however the ex-Armagh City player shot straight at ‘keeper Robinson.
