Loughgall 3 - 0 Killymoon Rangers

The opening stages of this Davison Group sponsored Bob Radcliffe Cup game was fairly even with only the home side creating any chances.  An excellent ball into the box by Pentland on 14 minutes was headed towards goal by Dean Smith but was deflected past the post by defender Kilpatrick.  The resulting corner was met by Murphy who unlucky to see his effort tipped over the bar.
The away side nearly opened the scoring when McElhatton’s free kick was headed just wide by McMullan when well positioned.  After 25 minutes Moffatt played Adair through to test the ‘keeper from close range, however Maguire confidently saved down to his left post.
Killymoon again threatened when McElhatton’s floated free kick was headed over by William Smith on the half hour mark.  After 44 minutes Moffatt played the ball inside to Pentland and his effort from the edge of the box was tipped wide by Maguire in the away goals.
After the interval the impressive Moffatt released Adair into the box however the ‘keeper saved well at his feet.  Loughgall broke the deadlock on 58 minutes when excellent build up play between Adair and Pentland allowed the latter to confidently slid the ball past the away ‘keeper.  After 65 minutes Dean Smith almost doubled Loughgall’s lead but was unfortunate to see his goalbound effort cleared off the line by Kilpatrick.  Dean Smith efforts were rewarded 6 minutes later when he delightfully chipped the ball over the ‘keeper and into the net following good play by Lavery.
Brian Adair collected a pass by Lavery before unleashing a 25 yard drive which was excellently pushed past the post on 73 minutes.  The Villagers wrapped up the victory in injury time when Dean Smith ran onto an excellent ball before smashing it home from 12 yards to score his second of the game.
