Loughgall 1 - 0 Bangor

Loughgall lifted their first silverware of the season after they defeated rivals Bangor in an action packed Carnegie League Cup Final thanks to a first half goal from scoring sensation Dean Smith.
The striker collected Lukasz Adamczyk’s pass on 26 minutes and exquisitely chipped Ryan Brown (1) from inside the penalty area.
Before that Bangor could have found themselves in the lead when Alan Murphy’s short back header was pounced upon by BJ McMenamin.  The forward, on loan from Glentoran, however couldn’t find a way past ‘keeper Marc Robinson who expertly blocked his powerful shot.
McMenamin had another excellent chance to open the scoring however he volleyed Glen Hand’s dangerous cross over the bar under little pressure.
Dean Smith tried again to chip ‘keeper Brown on the half hour but he saw his effort sail over.  Just after Ryan Moffatt played a inside pass to allow Brian Adair a long range shot at goal which went over the cross bar.  Before the break Bangor winger Andy Forsythe directed his free header wide of the post when he really should have kept it on target.
10 minutes after the interval Andy Morrow saw his goalbound curling effort force Robinson into a top drawer save to direct it out for a corner.
The Villagers were still threatening and 5 minutes from full time Moffatt saw his left-footed free kick tipped over the bar by Brown (1).  From the resulting corner Adamczyk almost doubled the lead whenever he headed goalwards however Andy Forsythe was well positioned to clear off the goal line.
With 2 minutes remaining the Seasiders thought they had levelled the scoring when substitute Ryan Brown (2) nodded in Forsythe’s cross at the back post.  However he was adjudged to be in an offside position.
