Glenavon Ladies 0 – 5 Loughgall Lakers

The Lakers began the game at a high tempo and scored their first goal after 2 minutes when Brooke Jordan crossed the ball in for Rebecca Capper to head into the goal.  Almost immediately Jordan found herself on the end of Amy McCallister’s cross but was very unlucky to see her header cleared off the line by a Glenavon defender.  In a very one sided game, Jordan again had an opportunity to score following an excellent ball played into the box by Claire Rooney, however her shot went narrowly over the crossbar.  Rooney then had an opportunity to score herself but her flick towards goal following McCallister’s corner was cleared off the line.
Just after the half Loughgall went two goals up when Capper flicked the ball on for Philippa Toal.  The pacy striker ran free and expertly chipped the ball into the goal giving ‘keeper Leanne Jones no chance.  Toal almost added her second but a good save from Jones kept her headed attempt out.  The Lakers added their third when a corner from Jordan resulted in a goalmouth scramble and a Glenavon defender turned the ball into her own goal.  On 75 minutes, substitute Valerie Wilson scored the fourth when good play from Toal slipped her in past her marker to curl into the top left hand corner of the goal.  Lynne Beattie had an opportunity to score soon after; however Jones just got her fingers to it to tip over for a corner kick.  The final goal in the game came when superb play by Capper saw her beat two players before crossing the ball across goal to allow Wilson to slide in for her second of the game.
