Loughgall continued their fine recent form winning their fifth consecutive game thanks to goals from Conor Mullen and Jamie Douglas in the final ten minutes of the game.
The Villagers can be pleased with their victory as they put in a great away performance restricting PSNI to very few chances. And it was through their best chance that the hosts scored the opener. On 36 minutes good build-up play from Ashton McDermott culminated in a cross to the unmarked Owen Moody who give the Police the lead from close range at the back post.
Before that Loughgall threatened through Stefan McMaster’s driven free-kick from 25 yards that was pushed past the post. And, on the half hour mark, Mullen couldn’t keep his headed effort on target following good work from Paul Stretton.
Loughgall controlled the second half however they failed to really threaten until they levelled following a goalmouth scramble on 80 minutes. Following a corner, Conor Mullen diverted Dale Montgomery’s shot from close range into the back of the net.
Substitute Jamie Douglas proved the difference on 89 minutes when he converted Stefan McMaster’s pinpoint free-kick from inside the penalty area.
