Loughgall bounced back from two defeats to win their first three points since securing their top 6 position in difficult conditions at Lakeview Park.
Loughgall opened the scoring after only four minutes when John Uprichard hit a strong low shot, from the edge of the penalty area, that trickled through the legs of Comrades’ keeper Paddy Flood.
The hosts doubled their lead on 17 minutes through a wonder strike from Marcus Dallas. Jack Upritchard’s corner was cleared out of the penalty area where Dallas was loitering and he hit a smashing effort into the top corner of the net from 30 yards.
Comrades pulled a goal back just three minutes later when Curtis Woods found himself with a free header to convert Samuel McIlveen’s corner delivery from close range.
The Villagers got the important next goal seven minutes into the second period. Ruari McDonald’s cross was met by Marc McConnell who forced a superb save from away goalkeeper Flood however striker John Uprichard was alert to slide the ball in from inside the six-yard box.
On the hour mark Ballyclare reduced Loughgall’s lead to a single goal when Denver Taggart poked home from inside the penalty area. Ballyclare pressed to find an equaliser however they failed to really trouble Loughgall ‘keeper Gareth Buchanan.
The Villagers made sure of the three points deep into injury time when a long kick-out from Buchanan released substitute Mark McCullough who took the ball into the penalty area and finished from close range.
