John Uprichard struck deep into injury time to ensure Loughgall claimed local bragging rights and an important three points against Armagh City.
The hosts almost scored after only three minutes when striker Conor Mullen saw his close-range header come back off the post and into the arms of Loughgall ‘keeper Gareth Buchanan.
The Villagers netted through a superb goal on 15 minutes when Peter Campbell evaded Eoin Toal before crossing for Jack Upritchard to smash home a volley past ‘keeper John Connolly.
Armagh equalised just before the break when a quick counter resulted in Mullen squaring for Shea McGerrigan who slotted home a good finish at the back post.
Loughgall regained their lead when Marcus Dallas hit an unstoppable 30 yard strike that nestled in the top corner in the 51st minute.
City almost levelled four minutes later when the talented Mullen drifted in from the left flank before hitting an audacious 30 yard shot that rebounded off the crossbar.
The home side hit the crossbar again in the 62nd minute when Jordan Bell saw Loughgall ‘keeper Buchanan tip his ferocious drive onto the bar and over for a corner.
The Loughgall defence were caught out again with another pinpoint Mullen cross five minutes from time. Substitute Shea Campbell connected with a well-placed header into the corner of the goal.
The Villagers had the last laugh however as a goalmouth scramble, late in injury time, as Mark McConnell’s corner was somehow smashed home by leading goalscorer John Uprichard.
