Ballyclare Comrades 5 – 2 Loughgall

The first goal of an action packed game came in the 11th minute when Thomas Robinson rifled the ball into the roof of the net from 16 yards.

The lead was doubled six minutes later. A lovely move down the left ended with Thomas Robinson putting in a super cross for Jason Johnston to power home a header from 5 yards.

Comrades looked to be cruising to victory when they added a third goal in the 34th minute. Adam Gray won the ball on halfway and advanced to strike a super shot from 25 yards, low into the back of the net.

However, Loughgall has looked dangerous from set-pieces, and from a corner in the 38th minute Andy Devlin headed in from 4 yards at the near post.

Five minutes later the comeback really looked to be on, when from another corner Comrades ‘keeper Paddy Flood misjudged the flight of the ball and clawed it into his own net.

However, Comrades showed no sign of nerves in the second half and dominated, scoring two more goals to seal the win.

On 69 minutes Thomas Robinson, having a superb game, ran from inside his own half, played a one-two with Chris Trussell and then stabbed the ball home on the stretch from 7 yards.

Then, in the 89th minute, Chris Trussell finished into an empty net after ‘keeper Gareth Buchanan had blocked a Michael O’Hanlon effort.
