Loughgall bounced back from the loss at Carrick Rangers to put a ten-man Dundela to the sword at Lakeview Park. The win over the basement club sees Noel Mitchell’s side move up to 10th position further away from the relegation zone.
Loughgall took the lead in the 17th minute when Wes Boyle’s corner was met by Aaron Patterson at the back post where he slotted the ball in from close range.
Ten minutes before the break the Villagers doubled their advantage in similar fashion; Boyle’s corner was headed in by Patterson at the back post leaving Dundela ‘keeper Macauley Cairns no chance.
Three minutes later things got even worse for the visitors when left-back Scott Collins was shown a straight red card for kicking out at Warner Mullen.
Dundela grabbed a goal back on 44 minutes when Jamie Jackson hit a wonderful free-kick from 30 yards that curled into the top corner and past the diving Buchanan in Loughgall’s goals.
The hosts regained their two-goal lead in first-half injury time when another Boyle corner caused confusion in the penalty area and the ball was deflected in amongst a scramble.
Loughgall made sure of the win in the 66th minute when Jeff Brady’s pass into Mullens path allowed the striker to flash the ball into the top corner for a well-worked goal.
The Duns grabbed a late consolation as Jackson headed in David Murphy’s free-kick for his second goal of the game.
