Loughgall 3 – 1 Annagh United
Loughgall tasted Bob Radcliffe Cup success for a twelfth occasion with a deserved win over ten-man Annagh United in the Boxing Day showpiece. Manager Brian Adair will be pleased with the performance of his side as they dominated possession and created a host of good opportunities.
A well-worked move in the 16th minute put the Villagers ahead when it culminated in Marcus Dallas squaring the ball across for Stephen O’Neill to tap home at the front post.
Annagh levelled in the 29th minute when forward Shea Campbell, who was left unmarked, glanced home Scott McCordick’s free-kick.
One minute before the break the Portadown-based side were reduced to ten men when forward McCordick was shown a second yellow card for a reckless challenge on Mark Carson.
Loughgall regained their lead on 77 minutes when Neil Alderdice’s forward ball was cleared by defender Richie Allen. The clearance fell for Daniel Burns on the edge of the box; an excellent first touch set-up the winger for a vicious shot that flew in off the underside of the crossbar.
A counter-attack in injury time saw Loughgall wrap up the win when Daniel Burns raced from his own half before seeing his low cross converted by Warner Mullen at the back post.
