Three first-half goals from set-pieces helped Larne collect all three points away to Loughgall and move up to 2nd place in the Belfast Telegraph Championship One table.
Larne opened the scoring after 16 minutes when Stuart King’s corner was headed home by Stuart McMullan from close range.
Loughgall equalised on 25 minutes with a superb solo goal from Colum Curtis. Warner Mullen passed to Curtis, on the left wing, who came inside skilfully beating a defender before unleashing a tremendous 25 yard drive straight into the top corner.
The visitors regained the lead just two minutes later when Paul Maguire nipped in at the front post to glance home Ciaran Murray’s corner delivery.
On the stroke of half-time Larne dealt a killer blow as they extended their advantage when another corner delivery, by winger King, caused confusion in the Loughgall penalty area. McMullan headed down for Michael McClean to fire home from close range.
Larne’s fourth goal came in the 58th minute as the integral McMullan released Murray clear and the forward made no mistake slotting past the outrushing Gareth Buchanan.
Loughgall grabbed a goal back on 68 minutes when Mark Carson’s cross was met at the back post by Steven Ferguson. His well-struck volley flew past Ciaran Stitt and into the back of the Larne goal.
Loughgall pressed to get back in the game however struggled to test ‘keeper Stitt any further.
