Goalkeeper Gareth Buchanan was the penalty shootout hero for Loughgall as they booked their place in the Bob Radcliffe Cup final on Boxing Day morning.
Buchanan saved three penalties as Loughgall recovered from the precarious position of being 2-0 down in the penalty shootout, after two penalties kicks each, to win 4-3.
The game was a tight affair throughout; Steven Murray and Warner Mullen threatened for both sides in the first period. But it was Armagh City who netted the opener on the hour mark when the dangerous Murray latched onto a forward ball before squaring for Ronan O’Hara to fire home from inside the penalty area.
The lead lasted just nine minutes as substitute Daniel Burns crossed for Steven O’Neill to head home from close range.
