Loughgall progressed to the quarter finals of the Mid-Ulster Cup with a hard-fought win over a determined Tandragee Rovers side.
Stephen O’Neill netted after only 25 seconds when he raced clear of Rovers’ defence before rounding the ‘keeper to finish.
Tandragee levelled on 15 minutes when Cecil Corbett set-up Mark Bicker to fire home a low drive from inside the penalty area. And the away side took the lead in the 27th minute as strikers Johnny Black and Corbett combined for the latter to net confidently beyond home goalkeeper Gareth Buchanan.
Loughgall, with more possession, began to exert considerable pressure in the second period and grabbed an equaliser on 69 minutes when Warner Mullen curled into the corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
Three minutes later Mark Carson’s forward ball was converted by Daniel Burns; and then, with four minutes remaining, Steven Ferguson lashed the ball into the top corner to ensure the win.
There was still time for Loughgall to score again as Chris Kingsberry squared across goal for O’Neill to side foot home from close range.
