Loughgall eased into the next round of the Bob Radcliffe Cup with a comfortable win over St. Marys at Lakeview Park.
The Villagers opened the scoring in the 35th minute when Adam Rodgers crossed for Conor McMenamin to fire home from close range for his first goal in Loughgall colours.
Forward McMenamin doubled his goal tally with another well-taken goal after good work from Chris Kingsberry six minutes into the second half.
The hosts advantage was extended on 64 minutes when Stephen O’Neill played a great one-two with Mark Carson before smartly finishing into the corner.
With ten minutes remaining Loughgall made it 4-0 as Ryan Moffatt’s ball over the top was sidefooted across goal by O’Neill for substitute Anto Burns to slot home from close range.
Striker O’Neill continued his excellent early season goalscoring form when he netted after Carson’s assist on 82 minutes.
And the scoring was completed four minutes before the end as Colum Curtis, making his competitive debut, skilfully evaded a number of St Mary’s defenders before smartly finishing a one-on-one situation with the away ‘keeper for a brilliant individual goal.
