Loughgall Utd 3-1 Valley Rangers Res

A comprehensive home win for Loughgall Utd on the day they lifted the Reserve Championship trophy for the 2nd time in the past 3 seasons and the last game for Loughgall for many of the side. A goal midway through the 1st half by Valley put them 1-0 up after a deflection put their striker through and he finished confidently, Loughgall should their fighting spirit coming back with 2 goals before the half, Simon Foster broke free on the right after a great through ball by Daryl Flanagan and as Foster got inside the box a clumsy challenge on him resulted in a pen which Gavin Fox dispatched confidently. Foster again was in the action, striding clear on th right hand side and hammering a shot home to put Loughgall in the lead at the break.

Another goal in the 2nd half from Simon Smyth, again assisted by man of the match Foster after some trickery on the right that bamboozled the Valley defenders he cut back onto left foot and delivered a great ball to back post for Smyth to head home. Steven Herron drew a great save from Valley keeper as Loughgall attempted to add more goals but it was a great win.

Loughgall Utd would like to thank Valley for the guard of honour they did before match and for MUFL’s Paul Suckling for presenting the trophy.
