Loughgall finished off their final home game of the season with a hard fought victory of Davy McAlinden’s Larne. A goal in the 1st half by Justin Bradley was enough to give Loughgall the 3 points. A bright start from Loughgall resulted in a goal inside the opening 10mins as Mark Carson’s header across to Bradley put him through on goal and and he cleverly lifted his shot over the onrushing keeper Keenan to put Loughgall in the lead to the delight of the Loughgall support. A good chance arrived for Larne captain Paul Maguire to equaliser but he skied his attempt at goal.
Two injurys to defenders Mark Stewart and Josh Finlay resulted in a defensive reshuffle for Loughgall early into the 2nd half but the player’s that remained battled hard and it was a case of both side’s cancelling each other out, a defensive mixup in the Larne defence allowed Gerard Rooney to nip in but his shot went agonizingly wide. A home win and a clean sheet was just the result Brian Adair wanted.
