Brain Adair’s Loughgall made it back to back win’s in the Belfast Telegraph Championship One as Ryan Moffett’s early 1st half strike proved to be the winner and to continue the villager’s impressive recent form. After two defeat’s to Knockbreda earlier in the season, Loughgall set out to make amend’s and started brightly, with Loughgall on the ascendency the took the league via abit of magic from Ryan Moffett, who cut in off the left flank to fire a spectacular long range strike into the top corner of the Knockbreda goal. Knockbreda’s best effort of the half arrived shortly before half-time with a free kick from the left met by the Knockbreda centre half with a powering header which produced a fantastic save from Wayne Drummond diving to his left to keep Loughgall in the lead at the break.
Justin Bradley had a couple of chances right at the start of the 2nd half to add to Loughgall’s lead but was unable to convert and the score remained 1-0. A strong penalty appeal arrived just before the hour for Knockbreda as Miguel Chines broke clear of the defence only for Paul Donegan to get back and collide with Chines as he was about to shoot for goal, the referee deemed there not to be enough contact and waved play on. Inside the last 10 minutes Bradley went close again for Loughgall, after superbly taking down Gerard Rooney’s cross from the right he struck over the bar but the score remainded the same and another 3 points was the reward for Loughgall.
