Brain Adair’s Loughgall made the trip to Belfast to take on Knockbreda in what was difficult conditions for both sides. Missing 9 regulars due to ineligibilty, suspensions and injury Loughgall had a depleted panel which featured 3 youth team players on the bench.
We started brightly in the 1st half with Wes Boyle going close with a sweet strike that the Knockbreda keeper parried wide but went 1-0 down after a cross come shot from the Breda left winger, Miguel Chines doubled Knockbreda’s lead with a header from a corner and the impressive number 10 for Knockbreda put them 3-0 up just before the break with a fine run and finish leaving Loughgall in trouble at half-time.
Joe Mckee got Loughgall back into the game shortly into the 2nd half with a driven volley from just inside the box, much improved 2nd half performance but it was not enough as Knockbreda went 4-1 up after a strike from range squirmed through the hands of Tuda Murphy.
