Loughgall bowed out of the Mid-Ulster Cup as Lurgan Celtic gained revenge for their Bob Radcliffe Cup final defeat on Boxing Day. Ex-Loughgall striker Raymond Fitzpatrick netted the decisive goal with 16 minutes remaining as he smashed home from close range after good work from Michael Toland.
Celtic threatened before that when Niall Lavery’s free-kick skimmed the top of the crossbar on 65 minutes. The Villagers came close five minutes later when Ricky Copeland beat ‘keeper Ciaran Fox to Dale Malone’s floated free-kick however the defender couldn’t keep his headed effort on target.
