Loughgall are still looking their first win of the season as they collapsed to a 4-0 reverse at home to Dergview.
Colin Malone made two enforced changes to his starting line-up; Jeff Brady was on international duty with Northern Ireland Regions Cup side in Macedonia and Wesley Boyle missed out through injury. This presented opportunities for Adam Pedlow and Johnny Kernaghan to stake their claim for a regular starting place.
The visitors had the first chance of the game in the 12th minute when Aaron Arkinson cut inside from the right flank before seeing his weak shot well saved by ‘keeper Gareth Buchanan.
Loughgall went close on 23 minutes when Dale Malone’s free-kick was well saved by ‘keeper Alan Buchanan, and sadly this was the closest they came to breaching the Castlederg backline.
The Villagers conceded five minutes before the break when Aaron Rodgers upended Arkinson inside the penalty area after being caught in possession. Duwayne McManus stepped up to convert the resultant spot-kick.
Substitute Conor Carlin doubled his sides advantage when he latched onto Jonathan Lafferty’s flick-on to fire past Buchanan in the 74th minute.
Two goals in the final six minutes made it a humiliating loss for the Villagers; Carlin netted his second of the game before Liam McMenamin rounded the scoring in injury time.
