Bangor 2 – 1 Loughgall

Loughgall fell to a narrow defeat at the hands of a Bangor side that are in pole position to finish fourth this season.

Bangor were ahead after only 12 minutes when Garth Scates scored from the spot-kick after Chris Coleman upended Conor McCloskey close to goal.

The lead was short-lived as Loughgall equalised almost straight from the kick-off when Marty Verner slipped a precise pass through the home defence that Barry Bloomer was able to poke past the outrushing ‘keeper Paul Cairnduff.

The Seasiders regained their advantage on 27 minutes as Ryan Murray’s low free kick was denied by ‘keeper Marc Robinson’s however his parry was bundled over the goalline by Gareth McLaughlin despite the best efforts of Darragh Peden.

The second half saw Loughgall improve and threaten from a number of set pieces.  Their best opportunity came when Alan Murphy went close through a header from Marty Murray’s corner that crept just past the post.
