Loughgall put in a determined performance to see off Sport & Leisure Swifts at Lakeview Park and claim their place in the Sixth round draw where they have been drawn away to the winners of the Ballymena United v Glentoran replay that takes place next week.
Loughgall were dealt an early scare when Sport and Leisure’s Kevin Duff hit a tremendous 25 yard attempt that was heading for the top corner only for goalkeeper Marc Robinson to pluck the ball out of the air.
The hosts opened the scoring after 13 minutes as ‘keeper Sean Tierney misjudged Paul Carville’s looping free kick allowing Barry Bloomer to head into an empty net.
On the half hour mark Daniel Ryan robbed Daniel Largey of the ball on the left flank before racing buy cheapest levitra into the area and firing a low shot which ‘keeper Tierney did well to save.
Darragh Peden connected with Carville’s excellent free kick on 55 minutes to finish from close range for his first goal since the opening day of the season.
In the 66th minute Alan Murphy almost extended Loughgall’s advantage when he flicked Peden’s header across goal, only for Duff to clear off the goalline.
With 15 minutes remaining, the visitors pulled a goal back to ensure a tense finish when Gerard McCabe fired across goal for substitute Darren Gallagher to poke the ball home at the front post.
However Loughgall made sure of the win with 9 minutes remaining when Murphy rose highest to meet Carville’s corner delivery at the back post nodding past ‘keeper Tierney.
