Loughgall United ran out comfortable winners over Division 2 side Ballyoran in the Ivan Marshall Cup.
On a poor surface, Loughgall struggle to adapt early on and the hosts came close with a few flashing efforts. United opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Stein Montgomery rifled a 25 yard strike that the home ‘keeper spilled allowing Gregg Harrison to tap home from close range.
A ten-minute spell in the second period saw the visitors net three further goals to ease through to the next stage. Firstly Steven Herron’s well-struck effort from 18 yards flew past the ‘keeper in the net and Kyle Foster scored a near-identical effort minutes later from a tight angle.
The fourth goal arrived after some great approach play and Montgomery coolly slotted home inside the penalty area for a deserved win.
